Garmin 441 power

My Garmin 441 just quit. I checked the power and it is getting at least to the unit side of the fuse.
Anyone know if there is a hard reset? I plan to use some electronic connection cleaner on the connector.
Any other ideas before I have to send it for repair

Are you literally just checking right at the unit side of the fuse? If so, also check at the end of connector itself. There may be a break in between the fuse and connector. If you are not getting power at the connector there is nothing to reset. Hopefully cleaning it up will do the trick, but if not you may be able to find someone on here local to you that has a model with a similar connector that would try it for you before sending it off.

Thanks for the reply. I cant get a pinout diagram for the 20 or so holes on the connector to see which pins are pos neg.

It may not be that important to get a diagram of the pin out. Take the neg lead off your dvm and find a way to connect it to the neg side of the battery that is supplying power to your garmin. Then just move the pos probe of the dvm to each of the 20 pins on the connector an see if you get a 12v reading on any of them for a start.

My old faithful Eagle Ultra 2 depthfinder quit on me a week ago. After some shade tree diagnostics I found where the positive wire had broken right where it goes into the connector. That leaves me looking for a new power cable for an obsolete unit. I hope you have better luck than I’m having when you find out the trouble with your unit.
Also, if anyone has an older Eagle or possibly Lowrance power cable from a unit that isn’t working, I could sure use it.
