The screen is real light colored with very little contrast. No amount of playing with the lighting will make it appear right.
Dad mentioned that there were a bunch of bad elec storms when he had it in the water at our house in the keys. Could it have gotten hit and it knocked out some color?
Guess I need to just call garmin, probably.
My first 545S did the same thing for no reason. Take it to West Marine and have them put it on the display cord to see if they can duplicate the problem. IF you happened to have bought it from them and are a member of their rewards program, they should give you a new one on the spot.
I forget where I got it from, but am a member and going there for two bilge pumps today so will take it with.
