Garmin chartplotter and sounder

our new east cape lostmen will be coming in soon and I need a little help on what garmin to buy. it is an 18 foot boat and I think I have a pretty good idea on what to get: either the 440s or the 440sx but I am still unsure. any advice would be much appreciated. thanks

Thats what I have and love it. Although I don't use the sounder all that often. I would opt out of that if doing it over.

I have a brand new in the box GPSMAP 492. Never installed, all accessories in the box, protective film on the unit, etc etc etc. Let me know if you might be interested.

what’s the date on that card? Also, do you know if the card adds any extra detail for the 492 since the charts are built in? I have never installed this unit or operated one with the built in maps so I truly don’t know.

I don’t think the 492 supports those pictures details like the newer Garmins. It is a very user freindly unit that comes installed with all the detail you want or need. I have one and I’ve never needed to buy a g2 card. It also doesn’t support XMweather but does hook up nicely on the DSC with your VHF. Hope that helps.
