Garmin EchoMap

Hey guys, we recently bought a new Garmin EchoMap 94sv for our skiff and recently began to have some trouble with it. After having it professionally installed, we took it out on a couple of lake trips and it worked wonderfully. However, on our most recent trip the unit would not turn on at all. We tried our best to troubleshoot and did not have any success. We checked to make sure the unit was getting power (it was) and talked to Garmin about it. We believe it’s a bracket issue and there’s a new one back-ordered that Garmin will be sending us, so hopefully that will solve our problems. We sure were disappointed to have problems so soon out of a thousand-dollar depth finder. Does anyone have any prior experience with this model and any common problems with it? It seemed like a great buy.

What sort of bracket has to do with the electrical connections? Not being smartass here, genuinely asking. Pic?

Truthfully, I’m not very good with electronics, so the idea that we had a bracket issue came from my brother and dad looking at it. Here’s a link to the bracket we got, the port in the bracket has a plug-in.
