I am reading this correctly…in the Product Chart for the Garmin 12" is not waterproof and is mainly for freashwater?..Is there a saltwater version?

It has a rating of IPX7

That’s spec’d to withstand rain, sea spray, etc

Supposedly it will withstand being 3 feet under water for 30 minutes, but I wouldn’t dare test that, lol.

Can’t image any marine chart/finder not being at least dust and rain tight.

Yeah that has always been my understanding about marine electronics. The info on the Cabelas site is misleading
