Garmin gps question

So I broke off one of the little pins on the back of the garmin GPS map 498 two days ago. Looks like it is toast.

I hate to have to buy a new one but it is 8 years old.

Any thoughts on economical ways to overcome this problem. Wish I could find a second hand unit I could just drop right in w/o having to mess with all the wiring etc…

Check on eBay. They usually have replacement plugs or entire carcasses.

You could probably take it to a shop that works on computers & they may be able to solder a new one in according on how it is made.
