I have a Garmin 168 GPS/Sounder on our boat that has been used as a sounder only. We decided to get the maps for it so we can do more exploring now that my son is 10. I was at West Marine getting some maintenance supplies and inquired about the software I needed. She said I needed Mapsource America and it was $250. $250??? you have to be kidding. Is this correct?
She quoted you on the Mapsource Atlantic CD instead of the Mapsource Americas.
The link below is what you need…but I’d call Garmin and make sure that the version that they send you is compatible with the 168 since it is a discontinued unit. You will also need the PC data cable that the unit should have came with.

There are alternatives, try searching “mapsource” here and on GPS forum sites.
Fishing on the bottom is like having sex with the lights turned off. It feels good but I wanna see it.

I thought I saw some mapsource CD’s at Boaters World in WA the other day, they have a huge going out of business sale going on.
I searched for those posts the other day and I couldn’t find them Smiley. Is it possible they were deleted for some reason?
Nope, still around
