So, I want to power up a 545s with just 12 volts in my garage for the purpose of setting up pages etc, can I simple run a small wire to the Pos/Neg brass tiny terminal on back of unit so I could power up as the bote is on the coast and I live in Cola. I would fuse it in the process.

the pins are VERY small and VERY close together
if you short out the pins you will have to reload all your info

Go to Ebay and buy a new power cable (010-10917-00), hook it up with a jump box or regular old battery …
