garmin/striker7sv sounder

just picked up a new striker 7sv sounder. four pin power cord has the standard black and red wires for pos and neg connection but, also, there is a blue wire and a brown wire in the same cable. i have searched owner manual on net but i can t seem to see what these two wires are for. would appreciate any help you guys can give me. would love to hook this up tomorrow. thanks for your help.

I have a Garmin 54DV and I used these wires to run to VHF radio for DSC calling, I don’t know if what I did works or not,I really don’t know how to test it.

You can’t catch fish on a dry line

That is probably what they are for. Read the manual, it has the pin outs.

With my Standard Horizon and my Uniden radios, when the GPS is connected right the radios display the Lat/Lon, course and speed. When not connected it displays “No GPS”.

thanks marsh picker and larry. according to west marine, these two wires are for dsc hook-up which i don t need in this situation.
regretfully, this unit didn t have a manual. just a piece of paper with a diagram on which plugs go where on the back of the unit. the manual IS available on line and , unless i missed it, it doesn t mention the two extra wires. again, thanks for the help.
