Anyone using the Garmin Echomap 94sv? Pros and Cons. Thinking about putting one on boat. Have a Lowrance for Nav. And want one for finding fish and bottom structure, wrecks and reefs.
I have one. It is a good unit and was an upgrade from a 541S I had for several years. The side scan takes some getting used to and seems to work better looking to the right rather than the left (engine lower unit is in the way). West Marine had an email notice of a one day sale for 40% off electronics. Couldn’t turn it down! The only draw back I found was the transduce is LONG. I used a piece of HDPE for mounting and a spray shield to cut down the spray. The shield was about 12 or 15 dollars extra.

Just ordered Garmin Echomap chirp 94sv with GT 51 TM transducer from West Marine 975.07 shipped to house. Hope the WIFE is OK with this.

rest-a-shore, you will like the unit. It is the most popular unit we install into new boats under 23 ft. Very easy to use with solid features…the transducer is a little long but shouldnt get in the way. I would get the shield tanksgt speaks of. The long transducer does shoot up a good bit of spray. Enjoy the new Garmin!

I have a 26’ Pro-Line cuddy with an Armstrong bracket or something similar and twins 225 Yamaha four strokes I hope I can mount it on the boat itself and not deal with the spray issue

If you have a bracket you shouldnt have to deal with the spray. Thats good.
