Garris Landing 8/3

Going to fish Sewee from Garris landing on 8/3 if anyone is interested in joining. The plan is to meet between 8:00 and 8:30am and cast for bait. Then launch around 9:00am or so. We need to be back at the landing by 3:30. Anyone is welcome to join us. I’ve never fished there before but it looks like a beautiful area.

Good luck and have fun!

How was the trip? Did you guys have any luck fishing? Any Pics???

Yeah, how was it. I have put my boat in at Garris but never actually paid attention as to what kind of yak site it would be.

We didn’t do to well. We saw the fish. Hundreds of redfish. But they wouldnt eat. We threw everything at them. We did catch a few smaller sharks. Saw Bonnethead everywhere. Redfish were rolling. Swirling around the bait but not eating it. The water was 84 degrees. This summer has been frustrating. With all the rain, low salinity etc. It’s just been tough for a relative newbie like me to catch fish. I did hook one nice trout on a Z-man in about 9ft of water. But he spit the hook while I was reaching for my net. We talked to a dozen people or so (Kayakers and boaters) and they all had similar results. Except for one guy that caught 3 reds and a bonnet. I’d like to get out there again and give it a try. It’s a great kayak spot and it holds fish. The ramp can get a bit busy in the afternoon.

If two wrongs don’t make a right, try three.

Did the guy that caught 3 reds mention what they were biting?

No. But he was in a boat so he covered a lot more ground than we did. Not sure if he made it out to bulls bay or not. We never made it that far.
