2003 Yamaha 40Hp 2 Stroke, pushing a fiberglass 15’ boat.
I can’t find a gas mileage estimate anywhere on google. The Fuel Oil Ratio is 50:1 and I have a 12 gallon tank. Anyone have about an estimate at different speeds? I have no fuel gauge, so im tired of filling up my tank when I dont have to.
I have a similar set-up with a '06 Yam 40 hp 2S, pushing a 14’4", and a 12 gallom tank. It seems to depend on load (me alone vs 2 other men with gear), and with only 40 hp I seem to run near WOT so I doubt I’m on the optimal end of the curve. I’d guess 3-4 mpg(statute). It certainly doesn’t match my Yam F115 4S.
Not apples to apples but I checked my 15’ alum boat (700 lbs) loaded with a 25 hp 1993 2 stroke with gps and full tank cruising 90% of the time and got 9 mpg. I was checking to see what kind of range I had with 16 gal. tank.

With my 40hp,I use about 2 gallons on any given day out fishing,that’s with 2 people and gear.
