we want to replace the gas tank in out little boat. it is a below deck 16 gallon one …52"x14" x5 " tall…made out of aluminum. anyone know who might make tanks or carry tanks this size?? looked on line and their are plastic ones but they are two wide and tall to fit under our deck…at least the ones I saw…any suggestions/help would be appreciated! could go with regular tanks but dont want the extra clutter on deck…penn

we did, and actually took it to him…but he thinks because there is so much pitting on the edges we’d be better off getting a new one…and he isnt set up to make one that is this long…believe me…I knew to ask “the man” first :)…he does some nice work!

cool…have someone else who said they might have a source…but wasnt sure…I tried to find one out of the plastic type which I know is still pricy but would be easier, but couldnt find one to meet the size and dimensions we need…

Flordia marine tanks, they make all the alum tanks for whalers.
just recently was in the same boat(no pun intended), there are a few companies in flordia that can make one to your size and ship it cheaper than someone local can make one. dont know why but thats what i ran into lookin for one for my boat and it was a 90gal. all alum.

I’ve got a theory on “why” 
bottom as you see doesnt look too bad…until you look at the ends…and theres a place on top edge too that isnt as bad as the one end…but still there…had Capt Ed ( who’s tops at what he does)look at it for us…at first the spot on the end was a pin hole until cleaned…then the real damage became apparent…wish we didnt have to replace it…but doesnt look like it s a fixer…

a friend on james island had one thats in great shape…but 62 inchs long…which I guess could be shortened…but then its also 18 inchs wide…poooo…daddy said to take a hammer and “just knock it in some”
