Got out Friday after work with my brother in law and my buddy who had the tag. We left the house at 4:30PM and were back at 6:30PM with a 9’9" gator. Put the boat in and hooked up a small gator not long after. Not really the one we were looking for but with the wind and my buddy’s tight schedule he said go for it. Luckily it got off. The commotion however raised a more respectable gator. First throw got him right behind the front leg. After fighting a bit, we got another hook in him and promptly brought him boat side. He was pretty green and not happy. Threw the giant treble on a rope over him and he spun, broke both lines that we had thrown over him. Had him just with the giant treble on a rope. We then stuck a spear in his neck, maneuvered him for the kill shot and it was lights out. We’re done for this year. It’s amazing how the wind starts blowing every year when Gator season comes around.
that was the exact size of mine and the story minus the spear was identical too!!
