Need some help. Got draw for the first for a gator tag. Southern Coastal region. I know nothing about this area and I live in Belton, Anderson county. So if anyone out there can point me to a place to scout out for a gator this coming season I would appreciate it.
Huger and Quimby rivers (East Branch of the Cooper) are full of gators.

We killed an 11’ 1’’ gator in the South Edisto last year, with the help of another boat. There are lots of gators in that river, but most are 6’ or less. We lucked up and found the big one on our 8th attempt. You have to watch it in that river though, one side is the Southern Coastal and the other is Middle Coastal. If its your first time I would recommend a smallish gator (~8ft). Also, go during the day it becomes a mad house at night. Good luck! It is WAY harder than we expected to get the big boys.
try the ashepoo river. lots of public ramps and plenty of gators. killed one there four years ago
Yes my hunting partner been looking at the Ashepoo river. Going for a 7’ or better being first try at this. Thanks Sniper7 for your help and everyone else for some places to go.

You might want to look New River. It is located between Beaufort and Jasper counties. There is a boat ramp at the hwy. 46 bridge that is fairly secure. Lots of lizards in that river.
oc
The left branch of Cuckolds creek off Combahee River has plenty.
