Hunted a new spot this afternoon. Did some quick scouting in what looked like a good spot on Google Maps…climbed a tree 25 yards from the Canoe at 1:30. Still had two WMA either sex tags, so didn’t want to have to carry both back home…
Doe down at 3:00…and back home before dark.

I think that when you come up with a plan. Execute that plan and have a successful result is way more gratifying than if you sit in a stand that a guide puts you in.
When I shot my 800# elk 2 years ago, it is strange but I was not excited. I pulled the trigger, but that’s all I did.
