Hey everyone - I’m somewhat new to inshore fishing; I’ve been searching for a great set of aluminum pliers so I can stop dealing with rusty pliers. I saw someone with a set of Landers in the surf one day and he said they were great and guaranteed for life. Has anyone else had experience with these pliers?
I guess for 25$ you cant go wrong trying.
These are the pliers I have used for years. The Gerber steel is an aluminum alloy. They never rust. You have to clean the fish blood off of them every once in a while but otherwise these pliers are maintenance free. They are easy to use one handed from pulling out of their sheath to unhooking a fish (this is very important). I have only replaced them once and that’s because I accidentally dropped a pair over board pulling the hook out of a shark.

I have gone through many different pairs of pliers. I have had this pair for the last 4 years and they have zero rust. I do believe it is about time for replacement cutting teeth but the pliers themselves are worth the $30 cost.

Rust and simplicity of use are two good factors when looking at fishing tool. But being able to get a hook cut without twisting it can be a painful lesson. Here is the set I carry. https://youtu.be/whH78WtZIxs
Thanks For the info - Those calcutas look similar to the landers - I found the Landers on amazon prime for $25 - I think I’ll give them a try since they are a bit more inexpensive. If anyone else has any luck with good pliers let me know; I love good tools!

Hey guys - I wanted to let all of you know that we got these and they come in a nice little box (not wrapped in hard to open plastic). My wife had me order 4 more for various people on the Christmas list. She said its a perfect size for wrapping - if you need a gift this may be the ticket.
Here is where I got them
Pretty much every pair of aluminum pliers like that is made in the same factory in China (company is called Frichy). It doesn’t matter which brand you buy, just get whichever is cheapest.
