Georgetown Landing is trying to put on a meat fish tournament the last weekend in April (24 & 25). It’s open to anyone, but you must leave from Winyah Bay. Is anyone interested?

Georgetown Meat Fish Slam!
April 24 - 25, 2009
- All boats must leave from Winyah Bay, Georgetown, SC.
- Lines in at 6 am and must be in to weigh in at Georgetown Landing Marina by 6pm. NO fish maybe brought to scales by vehicle, it must be weighed from the boat in which it was caught.
- Official tournament time will be continuous GPS time.
- Captain’s Choice of ONE fish day: Friday April 25th or Saturday 26th. Only one day can be counted for a fish day and boats must declare a fishing day by 7am of that day either via telephone or VHF Channel 16/72.
- Small craft at 6 am NOAA Report declares an ineligible fishing day. ONE DAY of fishing constitutes a tournament.
- All fish must be caught from conventional rod and reel. J- Hooks or Circle are allowed, as well as lures and artificial baits. There are no limits on tackle. No electric reels or bandit reels or “Green sticking”.
- In the event of a tie on weight, the first fish weighed will take the highest place.
- For the tuna category, any member of the tuna family is eligible for weigh in (ie. Yellowfin, Blackfin, Skipjack, ect).
- Only one fish from each species will count towards each category. Each boat may only claim 1 place in each category, but is eligible to place in each category.
- A member from the boat must be present to weigh-in each fish.
- Entry fee is $100 per boat and Tournament Within A Tournament (TWAT) fees are due by 6:30 pm on Thursday April 24th at Georgetown Landing Marina. Tournament entry fee is not counted in part of any payout.
- This is a T-W-A-T tournament meaning that the only payout is from the T-W-A-T’s and not based on Entry fees.
