Put in about 7:30 PM with the grandkids and everything was looking great. The weatherman was wrong and it was a beautiful evening on the lake. Caught a 27" keeper first fish and then some smaller fish for a about 30 minutes.
Then, while releasing fish #4 I immediately hooked into a 210 lb’er (OK, so maybe a 230 lb’er)
Spent a few hours at the ER while my son and friend took the boat out and caught a few more keepers. Then tried myself after getting back to the lake about 1am and the fish were gone.
All fish caught trolling flatlines with sinking/diving plugs and a 1 1/2 oz inline trolling weight about 8’ up the line. Bite seemed to be from about 8PM till midnite.
Wow - Past the barb and the hook even looks a bit rusty. That’s gotta hurt!

OWWWWWWWWWWWW…Never had that happen to me yet. Worst I’ve encountered is a small gold bream hook going through my finger and out again…wasn’t too bad, like a pin prick…
