NEOPREEN SCUBA BOOTIES… YOU CAN GET HEAVY DUTY SOLES ON THEM AND THEY ZIP UP TIGHT TO KEEP OUT SAND AND ECT… AND THE MUD WONT PULL THEM OFF!!! I THINK I SAW SOME AT THAT TACKLE SHOP AT THE END OF 526 IN MT P. TIGHT LINES TD

Lol, I wonder if anyone makes socks out of kevlar.

Keen Gorge Boot

Not water tight, but no worries when walking the flats.

Flip flops definitely do not work. My oyster cut foot is finally starting to close up. The cut was so deep that it didn’t even hurt. As soon as I find my vibrams I will try those, but in the mean time I’m just wearing an older pair of new balance. The Kevlar socks look nice.

The folks at Sea Kayak South Carolina have a good selection of neoprene paddling booties/shoes (brands from NRS and others) that are form fitting to the foot, have a good tread and also have a velcro strap over the top. I’ve never had mine come off in the mud and they protect well from the oysters.

An old pair of tennis shoes is hard to beat, but if you want something that drains and dries quicker, check out some of these:

Just picked up a great pair of Columbia’s Haddrell’s. They are on sale…

I’ve got the Sperry SON-R and Columbia Drainmaker. Both are comfortable and have good grip, but neither keep sand and small bits of shell out.

Scuba booties or Keen will do the trick… you’ll just have a pretty old man socks and sandals tan.

25$ at bass pro ,will last a year

Just bought some “cadis” , seem pretty good, 35$.

Not just walking flats, I where them skrimpin, and fishing in cooler months as I always seem to get feet wet anyways.

I have a pair of Shimano Evair That work well. They have the drainage of Crocs with a sole thats more condusive to oyster beds. You still get sand and shells in them. But, It’s easy enough to rinse them out.

If two wrongs don’t make a right, try three.
