Hello everyone i have been in town now for over a year and havent got the yaks wet at all. I moved down here from Jacksonville Fl where i spent alot of time chasin reds in the creeks. I am looking for some good places for both fresh or saltwater fishing. I live in goose creek and would like to stay within 30min or so from the house if possible. And oh yeah… i really dont like gators over 10ft.
Well I was gonna say Bushy Park but if you don’t like big gators… uh… I hear there aren’t any in the NC outer banks… Bushy park is close, stay out of GC Res… REELY big gators there… If you want to break out of the 30 min bubble there is great fishin at Redfishville and the upper wando…

Just kidn the gators dont bug me… i mean i still have all my toes/feet/legs so they really arent a problem. I really just dont know where to go to find some good flood grass where there isnt a lot of boat traffic? The 30 min limit isnt really set in stone but it would be nice to have somewhere relatively close. realisticaly i would drive as far as need be to catch some fish! I will try to look up that redfishville. Any suggestions on public ramps or put ins?
You won’t find redfishville on a map but Paradise ladning on the wando is good, Remleys is good during the week if there isn;t a lot of boat traffic, IOP marina to fish the ICW, Bushy Park has fresh and a salt side, as for throw ins… tons of 'em… some are better kept secrets that we don;t share openly so you’l have to meet-n-fish to fidn some of 'em

I have to get my capt D’s stake out pole/pullies installed on the yak and then im down for a meet up if anyone here ever meets? With that could anyone recommend a good yak shop as i am a lil nervous about riveting the posts to the yak…
Talk to Dolphin Dave @ Time Out in Mt P if you don"t feel comfortable doing something yourself. Dave will hook you up or let you know who can. Another great source for yak info/help is Too Busy. Tommy is the most knowledgeable yak guy I know. Look him up.
