gettin a fishfinder/gps

my buddy’s dad just bought a 25 foot cc previously had the Garmin 178C. the transducer and mount, and GPS antenna are left. My question is what is the best move to make. He definetily wants the gps capability for the inshore waters and offshore. Which models are the “best bang for the buck”… HE was lookin at the garmin 431 but doesnt think the screen is big enough.

530 s series garmins best bang for buck . Have one and love it

I have the Garman 540s. color GPS/FF and it works great. best bang for the buck under 600 bucks

do not get a 4 series for an offshore boat

Think the 5 series uses a different plug in the rear. Might want to check that.
