Well, set up my first Carolina rig and set out to check it out in the Ashley. Baited with the yellow gulp I cast out into a hole that usually produces some good hits. After 4 or 5 casts something hit that gulp like a ton of bricks. Using some pretty crappy tackle(Dicks sporting goods all in one rig)I bought while waiting for my two Ocean City salt rigs and my swiss made Gracia reals are being refurbished at Haddrells, I set the hook and the fight was on. I battled this guy for a good 30 seconds and then the inevitable happened…line broke inside the real. My first carolina rig and a very nice catch gone. Oh well, my old standbys should be ready by weeks end and loaded with new quality line and we will hit it again. Bet I win the battle then.
