I’m wondering how many people have a Gheenoe.
What kind of fishing do you do?
what else do you do with it?
Mine does everything from paddling around with kayakers, to putting a stand in it for Bowfishing on the river.</font id=“Comic Sans MS”></font id=“size3”>
1986 Gheenoe 15’9" bought new and never put a gas motor on her.
Mine is a camo 2005 15’4" model with an 8 HP Yamaha 4-stroke.
Fished only a little, but cruise the creek in my neighborhood mostly. It is really a remarkable design. Taken it up the Wando River a handful of times and every time I go, it surprises me of its capabilities.
Had it about it about a year and since the purchase I have installed a jack plate, swivel seat, upgraded the prop, installed skinny water push pole holders, fabbed up a PVC tiller extension, rebuilt the trailer with new bunk configuration, added trailer guides and elevated lights.
(Needless to say, I’ve worked on it more than run it; hopefully, that will change this next year.)
Planned upgrades:
Fuel Tank Tray/Holder in Bow
Cooler Mounts
ah. Nice JP3. I rigged up a 4 foot utility trailer to use as a boat trailer sometimes. I used to just put it on top of the car or truck. That got old quick.
I built a PVC stand for bowfishing for carp and gar. I need to install some lights. I been making do with antique battery lights for 25 years. LOL
I hope you get to work yours more this coming year too. both of us.

I have a 2007 custom classic with a 30 hp johnson. I mostly fish the wando and put in on hobcaw creek. I fish creeks mostly, using the draft and narrow beam to get to the end of creeks on the incoming low to fish the reds as they enter and go on to the flats. I also do some flats fishing. One of the best things about these boats is how easy they are to trailer and clean up. I just bought a east cape lostmen and while i’m going to love fishing it, i’m going to miss the ease of the gheenoe. My boat is listed in the classifieds.
I have a 2010, 15,4" NMZ Fighting Lady Yellow, run a 8 and 15 Yammy 2 stroke.
Poles like a dream, IMO poling platform not neccessary , could see it on the bigger Ghenoes. I pole from the Bow mostly and am going to purchase a small casting platform to use on the Bow or Stern.
I have a Galv trailer, wish I would have gotten Alluminum.
Very versitile little bote, had it in Flamingo last winter and slayed the Reds and Snook in it.
The ECC is a used boat. 2009 side console, 60 etec, bobs jackplate, 80 # minn kota, multi position wang anchor, and all kinds of custom details. Really nice boat. I’ll try to swing by the shop one day with the boat. I’ll post some pics this week too.
