Ghetto fishing!

Boat is in for service, went downtown (Cooper River side) and tore up the flounder this afternoon! Mud minnows on bottom rigs, and electric chicken swim shads. Great afternoon of fishing and laughing at our fishing spot. I caught more flounder today than I’ve caught in 7 years of boat ownership. Just goes to show you that you don’t need to spend a ton of money on a boat to have a good time fishing.

Nice job!. I agree, I catch more reds/flounder on my dock in charleston, and more bream/bass in my pond in Cola than I do on my boat. However, I wouldn’t trade one for the other anyday. There is just something about being on the boat that makes even a skunked day enjoyable. Now standing on the bank and getting skunked just plain sucks.

That says it all. Just being on the water is reward enough, catching fish is icing on the cake.

Yeah, maybe those forced to fish “ghetto-style” (whatever that means) actually know a little more about fishing than some of the guys with the fancy boats and deep pockets…

i know that fancy shirts don’t catch fish. in fact, they look funny with blood on them, and that would make my wife yell at me too.

there were pix posted a couple months ago of some folks who were offshore catching fish in “ghetto shirts”, then changed into buttons and collars for their posed shots back on the dock. struck me as very odd to dress up with a stiff, cold carcass in your hands… but maybe i’m just from the wrong part of town.
