Did anyone go last night ? I went and got skunked just wondering if I was the only one and if that big moon might have had anything to do with it !

I went out that night and got 3, the largest being 19". I don’t have a boat so I wade when I go out and my numbers are usually a lot lower than other guys. I have found that I have better luck when it is not a full moon though, but that’s just my opinion.
There is a fine line between genius and insanity, and I have a foot on either side.
I went and ended up with nine. I don’t think the moon affected it as much as the rain making the water murky where we were Gigging. Missed a 23 inch + class flounder due to the prodding technique. I have to stop being afraid to gig what I think are large rocks and end up being a flounder.
fishbruiser - your reluctance is understandable. feeling WHANG while gigging is not a pleasant experience. Neither is straightening your gig.
diver12 - if you want to upgrade for low$, canoe + battery + lights will get you plenty of fish and a great experience. I walked once and got 3. I was about 1 or 1.5 mile from folly landing when a boat muddied up the water. Couldn’t see anything whole way back. Made walking hard and gigging impossible. No motor on canoe, but still moves faster than walking. Also, if you time it right, you can ride tide out and back in to save time and energy.
Paddle power, would love to hear more how you do it from canoe? Do you paddle or pole stand or sit? Do you put lights on onE side and try to control your drift or put them off the bow?
Planning on trying from a kayak but trying to figure out the mechanic of it.
