I made the switch last year to white led 12v lights. I am old school and refuse to run a generator. I used to run 12v submersible with incandescent 12v bulbs but got tired of bumping the protective globes on the bottom to get into some real shallow spots. Moved over to 120v compact fluorescent bulbs a couple of years back with an inverter off my battery, but I had some many of the shop globes around the rail to get enough light that I could hardly pole the boat and the glare was terrible. Anyway with 12v led lights coming down so much in price I made the transition last year. I am running (4) 1200 lumen work lights that I picked up at Northern Tool relatively inexpensively and a 1400 lumen hydroglow light that I got from Haddrells. These give me the optimal amount of light and the light is white so the amount of reflection is minimal, but still present. I have found some lense film online in multiple colors and was considering trying some yellow over the lenses to cut out the last bit of glare/reflection. Any ideas? Do you think yellow would be better than the white?
I got nothin. i still use a q beam. but there’s really nothin to gig here anyway.
I’m running 2 30 watt leds on the front of my boat in warm white,it cuts the water better for me. I’ve read on bow fishing country they use a yellow tinted film,it’s worth a try.
I’m with Pea Pod, I use a Q Beam. Easy and works for me.
