Any recommendations or low budget tricks tips or setups. I’m gonna start doing some boat gigging and wade gigging.

My suggestion is to read read read! Lots to know about light color, angle, intensity, etc…
Ideally, you want underwater lights, but rigging them up is hard. Running old-style clamp on can lights with 12V light bulbs has worked for me for years, and I am not going to change until I design something to put some good lights UNDERWATER.
As far as wading, I recently purchased a couple of these, and have abandoned my eBay lights. These things work excellent, and thread right into a PVC fitting.

Their plans for the light worked perfectly.
SAFETY NOTE: When wade gigging, carry a bookbag for the fish, not a stringer. Sharks really really like to get ahold of a bleeding stringer of flounder trailing 5 feet behind you in the inlet…and you will need a change of drawers when it’s done…

I’ve also seen my fair share of gators in shallow water over the years…yes in the salt water. Even in the boat, poling over those guys is intimidating.
