Trying to post pics of my lights, see if it works
Heyoooo, it did, got those on eBay, 6 led 18 watts each, something like 1300 lumens each, waterproof, aluminum housing
It was the most light and best deal I could find for sticking with a 12 v battery. I got the clamps at lowes and just drilled the holes on top to mount the lights, this setup let’s me move them around the boat and take them off really well
“Rigged for the gig” Impressive job, and the fish too…
HINDRI, never got your PM…
Floundergig, my lights are 12v spreader lights that would go on a T Top. If you would like some, I have extra. I use them some but they draw a lot of power from your batter. I have some underwater LED lights I use mostly that range about 3000 Lumen. I’ll try to take some pics and post tonight.
Yakman, give me a call
Madman those lights look great. Here is a pic of one of the underwater lights I use. I normally use 4 and that lights up from the front of the boat to the back
Who makes the underwater lights that you have?
Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught.
Jonathan, Ill take some more pics upclose and send them to you. A member here has the ability to get them. His call sign is ECU1984. They are LED and range from around 3000 to 3600 lumen. They will last days on a single battery and are EXTREMELY bright. Here is a pic of cheap set of lights I made last season. These run off of a 120 power inverter. They pull little power and last all night. I have around 50bucks in this set up.
Here are some newer spreader lights I added to the front of my boat. Got them from a rep so none of them match but they do the job.
I would love to get the info and photos on those LEDs you are submersing. I have an old alum boat that I am going to start working on for a gig setup. I’ve yet to figure out a good underwater light setup, so this would help me out tremendously. BTW, very nice work you have done on your boats. Any tips for how a guy gets started in learning alum welding?
thanks Palmetto

Bigtuna, if you live close to Columbia I would more than happy to work with ya…Welding aluminum is not easy and weldning anodized aluminum is even tougher. Here are some pics of the underwater LED’s I am using. The LED’s are some of the brightest in the world putting out 100 lumen per volt…They are rather costly but well worth it. 2 lights can light up the entire side of your boat. One thing with bright lights though, if there is alot of sediment in the water (cloudy or merky), your done for.
Want to get this if I can figure out a way to mount it on my boat:
I really like the plate on top of the recycling bin for pulling fish off the gig. That’s snazzy!

Thanks so much for offer, and I would certainly take you up if I were closer. I’ve just put some roots down in Beaufort, so I am thinking about checking on some night classes or something to get started. I only want to learn as hobby though… trying to ease the frustration of having ideas without the know-how to build them.
I also appreciate the pictures on the LEDs. As for the housing on those (the plastic, not the metal)… is that exposed? Are you able to submerge that without problems?
@Madman: You figure out the mount, I will gladly pitch in on fuel!
The LED’s are encased in a special epoxy. Its totally waterproof and having them underwater helps keep them cool. I come to Beafort on a regular basis. The patrol sent me there the first 4 years of my career so I have roots planted there as well. I hear people on this site rave about a tower builder in Hardeeville. You may want to check with him and see if he could help you out with some scraps to practice with. Anodized aluminum is very exspensive and a high frequency machine to weld it isn’t cheap either.
These are underwater LED’s from Coastalnightlights.com The foam floats and pvc is guided in my trolling motor mount. I’m satisfied with it but may add a third.
Hey guys, I built these lights with PalmettoTrooper. These LED emitters have to be ordered from China and take about 30 days to get. These LEDs blow away anything 12-24V you see on the internet. They have a special driver and a few other componets that are perfectly matched. These are the brightest emitters made and each light is 3000 lumens. Super nice with no generator noise. We built a few for PalmettoTroopers boat and my boat and I have been flooded with emails of people wanting a set. We may be producing them real soon and will post details here with specifics, etc. alot of time and research has gone into these lights and we want a quality product with patent applied for. Stay tuned
