Gigging The Stono Inlet

Wednesday Morning, went flounder gigging in the Stono Inlet. Water was nice and clear despite the resent rains. Retrieved 3 very nice flounder and 1 hammer head 55" in length.

Awesome nite. Schools of red fish were out in force.

Hammerhead gigging!

Oh boy

Trying to post pics, but am getting errors.

I thought it was illegal to gig a shark?

Probably not a good idea to post pictures of that

He said he was flounder gigging. He said he retrieved the shark.

Not necessarily an admission of any guilt.

Don’t be surprised if there’s 100 boats on your spot next clear night…

Rick! I will be around your dock soon.beware!!!

Stonoman

The shark was caught drifting a live mullet; I grabbed with a dip net, via rod and reel. While gigging The sharks were swimming right up to the boat. Know weight, just a circle hook. Let the mullet free swim as we gigged flounder.

Are those bonnets eddible?

as far as I know they are edible. Hopefully the people that jump on my spot, catch more than I did. I am used to catching the limit. Never at stono inlet. But it was good for early season run. that place is no secret, every time I go there, there are other boats jockeying for position.
