Just got a new boat and can’t help wanting to go. What to expect? Are any fish still around?

I’ve been catching plenty of flounder in creeks lately, most smaller but keepers,so they’re still around. However, DNR closes gigging for trout and reds only from Dec thru Feb.
The water is usually pretty clear, but the flounder tend to go deeper as the water temperature drops. Be careful gigging non flounder during this time of year. You might get lucky and see a few, but this time of year is pretty uneventful.
?It is unlawful to gig for flounder in salt waters during daylight hours. For the purposes of this section, gigging does not include underwater spear fishing.
?It is unlawful to gig for sharks.
?It is unlawful to gig red drum or spotted seatrout during Dec., Jan. and Feb.
?It is unlawful in Georgetown County to gig for fish in saltwaters from the northern tip of North Island to the northern tip of Magnolia Beach during daylight hours.
Good luck!
