here is a my first upload on to youtube. Its a video of my gigging trip last night. I had a great night. Still yet to surpase my all time charleston record of 3 flounder. But I did get to see a lot of ghost and smaller ones. so it was a great night. Check out this brave flounder in this video. He wouldnt swim away.
Any other fellow kayak flounder giggers want to get up together. LEt me know. Im looking for partners in crime in Charleston
I have seen them both ways sometimes you can back the boat up on one and gig him when other times all I see are trails where they are leaving before I get there…
Thanks again y’all. DD, I didnt do anything. I wanted to try out a new place. But when I got to the beach the wind had the chop way up and I aborted to try another area out. I ended up turning my lights onto one bottom that reminded me of being back home in the PeedDee River. I ended up just cruising lazily back home. While enjoying a cold beverage. Thinking of going out again tonight
Nice video. I have a yak and a gig but never have the two been together. I think I would like to try this and would appreciate any hints from an experienced person could offer. Would like to see your light setup also. Larry
I have a wadding stick similar to the one pictured and then these 3 lights attached to my kayak. They can be adjusted up and and down and side to side. They also can be flipped up and out of the water for prospecting and the areas where its better for them to be shined down.
Finding flounder. Clear water, then Hard bottom (i prefer sandy bottom), stucture dips, holes, oyster banks, grass line, waters edge, and lastly BAIT
