Glow shrimp pattern

Keeping in line with the last swap below is how I build a glow shrimp.

Wrap hook with thread.

Place a small bunch of material at the hook bend.

Some flash to help form a mouth.

Make the eyes out of some 30lb mono.

Tie in eyes.

Tie in and loose wrap a saddle hackle to form legs.

Trim hackle to shap and place more material to form the body.

Apply epoxy or tuffleye to the area under the top material.

Apply epoxy or tuffleye to the outside of the fly, while keeping the top material pinched and only apply epoxy tail to head. NEVER HEAD TO TAIL.

Apply glow paint, then cover with tuffleye finish or nail polish if using epoxy.

Trim.

Very nice.
Where do you get the glow paint from?

Nice dude…how do you form the eyes at the end of the mono?

Just use a lighter to burn each end and then role the burnt mono to form a round eye. Repeat on the other end and then heat the middle to form a V. You can also color the eye and then dip in epoxy or tuffleye for a really nice looking eye.

SG- absolutely love the fly/paint. Ive been using Goop in a similar/same pattern. it is easily formed by hand but takes a while to dry (no rotation nec.) and gives a kinda gummy feel. I would imagine the tuffleeye would help the sink rate. Just curious, have you applied the t.e over the glow paint? kudos again, its beautiful

SD, Thanks. I do use the tuffleye finish over the glow paint. I left out that step in the pic process, but you could also use clear fingernail polish. I have had good results with both.
