Goal is a 40lber in the next month

I have set a goal to catch and release a 40lb fish sometime in the next month.

Will post pics when I pull this off and hopefully my schedule will work out where I can get this in within the next month before I start getting ready for deer season.

Trout will be my bait and that is all I will say at this point:smiley:

If I do I promise it will be released as long as it is kicking which should not be a problem

I have a somewhat similar goal in that I am trying to catch 40 cumulative lbs of striper out of lake murray this year. Your goal is probably more realistic.

Good luck! You’re not going to say where this 40 lber is coming from??

I’ve never fished Lake Russell myself.

I have been skunked last 3 times out on Hartwell which is odd this time of year.

Hunting buddy of mine is wearing them out on Seneca river trolling last couple hours before dark and also using jigging spoon as well.

Spot “X” I told you about last year should be good but my outdoor writer buddy gave me a little twist to it that sounds like it will work.

Problem was this past Friday the conditions were not right so hopefully they will be in the next couple of weeks.

I know the guides on Hartwell are doing well and I understand a fish is a fish but not much on catching those “party fish” and really do not like to fool with live bait in the summer.

I will keep you posted or pm me and I will tell you the other option if you like, really sounds like it may be the trick
