Gobble Trobble!

Slipped back into the swamp this morning to see if I could find the roosting quarters of some of the birds that were spotted this weekend and man was it quiet and sound traveled a long ways. I sat and patiently waited in a very brief light rain around 6:10 with high expectations of the woods coming alive with gobbles all around but that was not the case. I had to override my natural tendency to get out of the swamp and run to another spot before fly down which I expected to take place around 6:30 and just sit it out. Crows, owls, woodies, and woodpeckers all sounding off with no turkeys talking. Finally at 6:40 thunder struck the cypress trees and entered my ear drum. Then thunder struck twice (Bird #2)!!! Ah ha, got your roosting location now I got to get a plan of attack set up and hope to get the youngens on one on youth day. Birds gobbled hard between 6:45-6:50 which turned out to be fly down time and then the thunderstorm was over.

Going scouting Saturday. Plan on setting up next to this spot.

Hunting, fishing, and poker are my sports. Work when necessary.
