God speed Capt. Tony Smoak you will be missed you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers…Tight lines and following seas to you…
Fishermans Prayer God grant that I may live to fish, until my dying day, And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray, When in the Lord’s safe landing net, I’m peacefully asleep, That in his mercy I be judged, As big enough to keep. Tight Lines!!!
I’ll miss that smile Tony, thanks for everything you showed me about fishing offshore and thanks for putting us on that marlin a few years back it’s still the only one I’ve ever seen in the wild. I’ll never forget it or you. RIP my friend.

Tony is an irreplacable fixture in our sportfishing community. A friend of ours said it best Tonys passing along with a summer of slow fishing high fuel prices feels like an end of an era of greart times fishing at Ripley light.
This one hurts. What a Ripley Light Icon we have lost this week. Thoughts and prayers to family and friends…I am sure he is fishing right now in a much grander ocean…I can hear him saying it now “That’s…Right!!!” God Speed Tony!

A smile and a laugh we will never forget. I believe Tony could have taught us all how to lighten up a little.Only guy I know who could fish all day, catch 2 peanut dolphin, and still be all smiles. May God bless his wonderful family.
I have known Tony all my life, we grew up as next door neighbors and classmates and have hunted and fished together all over the world, there will be no finer friend, fisherman and duck blind companion that I know…His smile is burnt in my memory forever, I will miss him always…
I heard that there was a thread here, but just found it.
There are absolutely no words that can even remotely express what B and I are feeling right now, and that is really meaningless because of what the family is going through.
Actually, I really don’t even know what else to say.
Hundreds of people at the viewing tonight, what a great tribute for a wonderful, happy, positive person. Even in the worst of situations, Tony only spoke of the positive side.
Tony, we love you and appreciate all of the times we had together. You will NEVER be forgotten. All our love to you and your family. We have been truly blessed to have known you. Thank you for all of the great memories.
“Thaaaaaat’s right”…see you in Heaven someday…love you.
