I forgot to ask if anyone was out last Thursday 8/7 and saw the guy that was out swimming in the big pool? He was between the ramp and the towers, but was probably 500 yards out from the dam. There was a small regatta coming out of yacht cove, which put him in the one area that was open for boats to run through. He was wearing a red hat, but was still extremely hard to see out there. We stopped to ask if he needed a ride or anything, but he said he was fine. There wasn’t another boat around him. I saw other boats stop to check on him after we moved on too.
Probably training for one of the big half ironman comps that are in september. I think one is in Augusta and one in Canada. Probably safer in a pool, but those guys are serious. He should have had a buddy boat trail beside him. Not smart IMO.

I was out the evening before showing off the lake to a visitor here from overseas that was working with us that week. We pulled over to the towers hoping to see some fish being caught, but it was dead. There was a guy swimming about 75 yards out in front of the towers. I just figured had he jumped off one of the boats to cool off, but now I would imagine it was the same guy. Crazy

We went out Thursday afternoon. Right about dark he was in between the towers and boat ramp with to kayaks with him. Thought there was a rule with boats with no lights . Later on that night there was a pontoon going towards the dam with no lights but his radio was working. DNR must not mess with people around the dam as much as they do around boat ramp 4.
