Going offshore

Hey, I’m replacing the fuel tank in my 24’ Mako. And was curious just how big of a tank do I need to run offshore? The guy replacing my floor has an opening next week and can work me in otherwise it’ll be late summer before he can get to it. The only think I can find that’s readily available is 52 gallons it has a 69 gallon in it now. Anyone know of anyone who sells large tanks and has them available?

With a single 250, you need about 100 gallon tank.

I have a 23-contender with single F250 (f250 replaced a 250 HPDI and that replaced a 250 OX66) I have been the owner for all three Motors and I have never burned more than 75-gallons in a trip and that fishing destinations like 226, 380, ammo dump out of Charleston jetties all day. I hold a 150-gallons and always a good feeling running home though the rocks and still having a 1/2 tank of fuel. I believe your boat may be a little heavier than mine but mine carries a deeper V at the stern so I would expect similar fuel burn between the two.
