Going rate for full anual service on yamaha F-150

I just called a local service center in the Hilton Head area to qet a price on a full annual service (including water pump) for a pair of Yamaha F150s. I about fell out of my chair when they gave me a quote of around $1000 per motor.

I typically do my own services (boat is in charter service and I accumilate a lot of hours a year) but I like to take the boat to a certified mechanic at lease once a year for a full service and to have it looked over by someone more qualified than myself.

This particular shop does great work but $1000 per motor for a full annual serivce seems quite a bit higher than anything I ever paid before the same work.

What’s the going rate in the Charleston area?

Seems like the farther south you go, the more it costs.

Get a breakdown of exactly what work is going to be performed. Maybe there is something that you don’t want done that would reduce the costs, or help you understand exactly why the costs are what they are.

$269 for the service
$229 for warerpump
thats labor
parts are about$200
