Taking my son to the East Cooper area tomorrow to fish. We dont really care what we are catching as long as they bite. I was thinking about the Mt. Pleasant pier or in the surf behing Ft. Moultrie. Does anyone else have a better idea? Sharks would be fine with him. He is 10 so he likes to action fish. He got his patience from his mom. TIA
Cmon guys. I am not asking for honey holes I am asking for suggestions for a spot on the bank to catch a few with my kid.

You’re better off going to the Mt Pleas pier cuz you’re more likely to catch something.
Hubby and I fished behind Ft Moultrie the other day…last hour of incoming and first 2 hours of outgoing…and all we caught was 3 puffer fish and a few pin fish. Also had to deal with ignorant swimmers…and that’s all I say about that
Thanks for the info. Sullivans isnt the only place where idiots are. We have them on Lake Moultrie that run circles around you on jet skis while you are fishing. Any idea what they are catching in Mt. P?

Mostly sheepshead and trout. Go to the Surf/Pier section…lots of good info there.
Thanks

Went today to Mt. Pleasant pier. Beautiful place, my first time there. Lots of bites and rebaiting. lol caught about 25 total. Croaker, pinfish whiting and Dogfish. A 10" dogfish was the biggest of the day. My son had a blast though. Thanks for the info. Might try and go for sharks next week. Now to figure out the best spot for them.

Try behind Ft. Moultrie. Some breaks and an old pier there to fish around. I used to catch a few here and there when I surf fished it.
Glad you had fun today! I have a 10 y/o fish junkie too! LOL!

Heard they have been catching some shark and small fish off of the new dock at sunrise park on James island…off of fort Johnson road and next to the James isl yacht club…Donnie and his two brothers fished the mt pleasant/Shem creek pier a few weeks back nd caught flounder, trout and reds along with some trash fish…said they had a good time . Also…if you feel like a walk…the far end of folly closest to Morris island lighthouse is good for shark and other fish too.

sunrise park is a great suggestion; also consider Brittle Bank Park off north Lockwood for a kid’s memories.
Thanks for all of the ideas. I will try and post pics if we catch anything nice.

Havent even fired it yet. Trying to concentrate on the fishing. Have been doing some black powder shooting but that is it. Once it cools down some I will start shooting more. Let me know if you want to get together and go shoot with us.
