Going under the knife tomorrow

Wrist needs surgery to repair torn scapholunate ligament

there are 3 surgical options depending on the extent of damage; scope to remove scar tissue, partial ligament reconstruction, partial fusion and removal or scaphoid bone.

recovery is 4 weeks to 4 months depending on how badly the joint is damaged.

This takes me out of the IFA Redfish Tour stop in Charleston unless it’s a very minor tear, could impact the Jax classic as well.

I’ll be doing my speaking engagements regardless. May incorporate pay attention to pain as a topic in the lectures.

That sux, but i know how you feel.I crushed my wrist last year in may and it took two ops a titanium plate and twelve srews to put back together. I missed almost all of the fishigs season. I hope its not that bad for you, 4 weeks if your lucky, thats just in time for the season opener.

Good luck and speedy recovery.

Hope it all goes well for you Too Busy, no fun at all.:frowning: Had wrist surgery bout 6 years ago myself to repair nerve damage. Dr’s told me 2 months before I could use a hammer after surgery, 3 months later I could barely pick up a coffe cup in that hand still, but all good now! I’m sure yours will go ALOT better tho and you’l be on another sleigh ride in no time!

Tommy,
Good healing! (I hate someone saying “good luck” before general anesthesia, just freaks me out a bit :sunglasses:) Make sure you do all your rehab following the surgery so we can see you out on a yak and not be waving to you on the shore. If there’s anything I can do to help just let me know.

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad. </font id=“size2”>
