Golden Isles - 40 mile

Went down to St. Simons to visit a friend and took his 36 yellowfin out to 40 mile for some bottom fishing. Stopped at navy tower and picked up a bunch of bait… alot of goggles using white sabiki’s. Headed out to 40 mile and caught dozens of snapper, a hogfish, a trigger, some porgies, a ladyfish, a few dozen sharpnose and some other trash fish.

Coolest part of the day was when we were drifting the snapper numbers for the fifth or sixth time a school of dolphin surrounded the boat. Threw out some livies to get them excited and then scrambled to rig some live bait and free lined them out… ended up with one gaffer and one big peanut. Lost another due to bottom rigs in the way. Weren’t prepared for it… the Chaos was exciting though.

Great day, a little sporty on the way out, 3-5 'ers… Ride in was smooth as glass.
