Good day at pitt street

Fishing final 2 hours of outgoing tide in the am. Produced around 15 flounder with 3 going to cooler (i like fish with 18" personal limit). Also one nice 17" trout. Also caught a first for me inshore. A baby gag on live finger mullet. Released him and watched him swim away before I get the cf.com police going. Was awesome seeing a small version of what rarely see under 20+inches and in the deep blue water.

Dang, I’ve never caught 15 flounder in 2 hours in my life, without using a gig:sunglasses:

Caught a lot of those little gags, I treat them real gentle too. The marsh is the nursery of the sea.

Very nice! I agree with ya on the flounder size, 14 in. is too small. I have my limit at 16in. anything less is too skinny no meat.

Fished Pitt Saturday and Sunday AM, low to rising tide. Saturday caught several gags myself along with several undersized flouder and reds. Saw a couple slot redfish and keeper trout landed Saturday. All my fish caught on carolina rig with live mullet within 5 yards of the pier or under it around pilings.

Managed to put a 28" red on deck with the help from a couple other fisherman’s drop net. Thanks again! It was my personal best and I was pumped!

On Sunday, same story, minus the big one. Gags, small founder and redfish with a small blue sprinkled in here and there. Helped a guy just getting into fishing, Dave I think it was, by giving him some pointers. He managed to catch is first ever redfish seconds before the bottom dropped and we made the long walk back to the cars soaking wet. It was great seeing him get the fever.

If find yourself catching smaller flounder there switch to larger 6" mullet or artificial. Most larger flounder Monday were caught on zman skirted jigheads with 4" gulp alive swimming mullet. Best color was white/white monday

Nice reports! Gonna be fishing incoming tide there Thursday and Friday afternoon.

Seems like a lot of little gags caught this year… This means that grouper fishing should be pretty good in the 2019-2021 seasons
