Good day fishing...

We have gotten so spoiled taking the little boat out...few gallons of gas , litte cooler and we are ready to go..but decided it was time to make the extra effort and take the bigger one out as Im off the next 13 days and plan to do a lot of fishing!

loaded everything last night…checked all of the equipment in the ditch bag…spot, eperb, hand held vhf…as well as the other goodies in the bag…donnie says…dont you think thats overkill…i said yeah right…you say that if we are ever in need of it!! he still laughs that I have three of those cheep blow up pool rafts in it too…bright orange…he says…whatcha going to do with those…well Im going to blow them up…(what else is there to do if your floating and waitig for help)…so my legs arent dangling shark bait…and I can use them to summon help too. anyhow…first stop…

guess the saying you have to pay to play is right!

so i dump him in the water and go to park the truck…look over my shoulder and he is running towards the connector!!

but I knew he would be back because I had the fried chicken…AND ROO!!!

hit a couple spots for some bait and caught a good three dozen or so nice mullet…a few small shrimp…two lady fish and a huge softshell crab…he was dinner:stuck_out_tongue: and a regular one…

firsth thirty minutes we fed the little shark …then there was a twenty minute lul…then we had several hits one after another…including a double hook up which was a challenge. lost three… heres a couple pics

Excellent report and pictures as usual, Penny. Question, what’s your standard rod/reel/line/leader setup? Just curious, because you obviously know how to find 'em…

“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”

Nice day !!! It’s interesting to see the different colors of the reds from the different waterways where they live. Seems like the Ashley and the Stono (at least the more southwestern portions of it) are more red/brown colors while the Wando, ICW seem to be more silver colored.

Very nice!! I wish my wife was as enthusiastic about going fishing as you are!! Love the posts!!

Thanks! We had a good day! Black Bart. …can’t really say I use one thing all the time …Donnie says I carry too much stuff…lol… I usually take a couple light/ med action rods for trout , flounder and reds… A heavier one for sharks and bigger reds so they don’t kill my rods reels. Carolina rigs most times on the bottom…otherwise if not grubs I just like to drift a shrimp with a split sht with or without a weighted cork.

miss’n fish’n
