Good day inshore on the Wando

Got out for a few hours to guide the Mrs for some reds as she hasn’t caught one while looking at before.

We fished the incoming on the Wando as that’s where we live and can launch from and I did not want to burn a bunch of gas running to the Cooper or ICW.

The wind was blowing hard from the South which made it tough to see them but I’ve spooked so many up on the flats that I knew they’d be there and they were.

We saw quite a few fish; some cruising and others rooting like hogs on the bottom tails up.

We spotted a nice one and I put the poles down and got her up front on the cooler so she could see it and she made a quality cast, let it sit, twitched the bait, and then the toilet flush take happened and it was on.

She managed the fish well and i boated it for her once she got it close.

Was gonna keep it but she said not today and we took a photo, I said it’s your lucky day red…, and put it back.

Bait was an Eye Strike 3/16oz weedless gold eye, 3" Gulp Shrimp in New Penny, 6’8" ML rod, Shimano Stradic Ci4+, Suffix JBraid 8x lime green in 10# test, Sunline 12# Sniper FC leader
