Good day on Stono

Decided to go for a spur of the moment trip yesterday out of Limehouse. Floated out with the last of the outgoing tide, and wore out some quality trout. Biggest was 23", and the smallest was right around 18", 7 total in about 30 minutes. Bite turned off at that spot as the tide started coming back in, so I moved over to some shallow flats, and the reds were schooled up good! Landed 4, all over slot in the upper 20’s! I would have caught more, but it got dark on me, and I could not see the schools pushing anymore as the tide came up.

Water was a bit dirty on the outgoing, but started cleaning up on the incoming. All fish were landed on old faithful, Rootbeer Chartruese DOA paddle tail, with a black 1/8th oz jig head.

I would have posted pictures, but some jack wagon stole my camera out of my car in October (Xmas is just around the corner, Hint Hint!)

Sounds like a good day. Sorry about your camera. What kind was it? I just bought a used waterproof one from Bonzo. It wasn’t an Olympus was it?

I want to go back and try this spot on some topwater. It might have been a fluke, but that was the best quality trout bite I have seen in a long time!

I fish around Limehouse most of the time when I go. If you were where I think you were, I know the Reds that you are talking about. I have only been out a couple of times so far with the new yak I just got. Have not managed to catch anything out of it yet. Looking to get some fish slime on it soon.

Looks like I will have time to go this weekend so I will probably be back out there again. Maybe I will see you out there.

Congrats Dave…I don’t know why more yak anglers don’t fish the Stono.
