Put the boat in at bushy park yesterday morning. First time ever launching from there. I’ve kayak fished a few times out of there. Fished Goose creek and yellow house on rising tide in the am. Water temp was 83 but visibility was not good due to the recent rain. Didn’t see too many schools of finger mullet either. Managed to snag a 30 inch red in 17 feet of water on half of a blue crab on the bottom during the ebb tide. He put up a good fight. Fished for sheepshead for the first time with a bit of success. My buddy and I caught one keeper each. Caught 7 total. It was a challenge but very fun. Caught a few small croakers and whiting on cut shrimp. I ended up trading my old 13 foot wooden skiff and a rifle for a 94 j16 with an 04 yamaha 25hp. Its not pretty but it allows me to cover more water and its an upgrade from my last boat.
30 inch red
14 inch sheep. Not big, but it was my first.

This was the first time I actually targeted them. Just tied off on any structure I could find. I was surprised we were getting so many hits with all the rain we got the night before.

I avoid bushy park on the weekend lol. Too many people for me. Especially now that its summer. I can’t wait for football season so I can have the water to myself!
