too busy, but that info comes from the peeps who sell those boats, i was wondering if anyone had any personal experience with them and how they handled. If they liked the boats and liked them for fishing…

also, not sure if i need a sit on top model or this one that has a carved out cockpit for tackle/cooler…

It all depends on what type of fishing you want to do.

If you want to sight fish for reds, a sit on top is a must because you’re going to need to stand and pole around.

If your just looking to soak baits, it doesn’t look like a bad boat at all.

why wouldnt i be able to stand in that boat?, my balance is still rather sharp, and the previous owner throws a cast net from the boat…

i will be on the flat for sure.

maybe a perception caster??

after looking at more photos, i bet i would tip that boat and fall on my ass, soon as i stood up…

so i need a sit on top?, so i can stand up (and see) and pole around?

I can stand in my Hobie Rev and used to stand in my W/S ride. Although I have not tried casting while standing in the Hobie yet.

It really depends on what you plan to do and how much you want to spend.
I only know 3 other people who stand in their kayaks Dolphin D, Dux-n-Dawgs and yakin4reds. I’ve seen a few others try and give up VERY QUICKLY.
A sit on top is the right boat if you plan to do a lot of getting out and wade fishing. It’s the right boat if you plan to stand and pole or stand and paddle…A Wilderness Systems Ride 135 is the most stable sit on top out there. A Mainstream Kingfish is #2 and Wilderness Systems Tarpons are about #4 or 5 on the list.
There’s a Tarpon 140 on Craigslist for $600.
I have a W/S Freedom 15 which was the predecessor of the Tarpon series of boats. It’s VERY fast, but not as stable as the other boats previously mentioned.

If you have good balance (surf or skateboard) you can stand on/in just about anything. The opposite end of the spectrum is a friend of mine that somehow panicked and tipped over a sit on top WHILE SITTING DOWN. :face_with_head_bandage:

Sit ins have an advantage (normally) on speed and they are drier boats to paddle.

I have some spare boats at my house, so let me know if you want to try some different thigs before you buy. or go see Dolphin D at Time Out in Mt P. Dave will steer you in the right direction and he might even have some used boats for sale.

good luck.

thanks too busy…much appreciated…did you see the mill creek on craigs list? thoughts?

good lookin yak but i wouldnt use it to fish in around here. too many oysters and the like to take the finsih off. I do a lot of standing up in my kayak (13’ mojo anlger) and its definately a plus in some situations.

strip…strip…FISH ON!

i stand on my tarpon 120, just gotta trust yourself, and o yheah dont stand over oysters
