Where do I go for good, not necessarily fancy, food around Charleston?
What part of town are you in?
Smokey Oak Taproom on James Island. Moe’s Crosstown Tavern makes a good burger.

Found a Five Boys. Kept me from starving. Actually a very good burger and fries.

Tried to play golf this morning. It was not my best day on the links. Found Hadrells this afternoon. Nice shop for sure! Went to Waters Edge restaurant tonight. Kinda fancy, but the food was very good!
Food and places that have stood out to me.
Brisket - Lewis’
Ribs - Rodney Scott’s
Fish n chips - Cod father
Carne Asada Torta - La Nortena Taqueria & Mexican Grill
Cafe Mocha Shake - Park Circle Creamery
Shecrab soup - place on main drag of Folly but cant remember the name. Washout maybe???
Carne Asada San Diego Mexican street style burritos/tacos - Taqueria El Sazón latino on Redbank Road, but we call it the Yellow Taco Truck.
Mexican, all good - Santi’s on upper meeting
Kolsch - Coast Brewery, also available on tap at Rodney Scott’s.
I do love Lola’s off Montague. Beat etouffee you can get I think, and really reasonable prices. Get the swamp water. I think the shrimp and grits at Page’s is tough to beat.
Then there’s Angel Oak on 17 just past Main Road. Always excellent.
We ate at Graze in Mt.P the other day. Very unassuming location, but the food was really good. In that shopping center near Melvin’s.

Art’s Bar and Grill in Mt Pleasant is a favorite of ours. Dive bar, but the food is great!
