I’m sure it is available for Iphone, but I use Navionics ($8 I think) on my android phone, and it works great. Has GPS feature, nautical charts, and seems to even have most smaller back creeks in the maps.

Free version of Telenav works pretty good inland. Used it all last week.

The more we just complain…the more things stay the same.

If they have Navionics for the iwhatever, it is well worth the money. Droid user, here. All typical gps functions in the navionics app.

Do they work when not in cell range?

Yes, they use true GPS. You just need to put the phone in airplane mode so it doesn’t run down the battery searching for a signal.

I use Navionics on my Droid. Love it. It has most of the features of my chart plotter.

X2 on Navionics. I bought a universal cell phone mount for a bicycle (can use the suction cup style as well) and mounted it on my console bar. My Garmin is old and slow, use Navionics all the time. Best thing for night navigating.
